Okay, its very simple and not brilliant. After all, i think my camera has seen better days. There appears to be a lot more noise than there used to be.

My dad is selling this Porsche Tequipment book on Ebay, and he asked me to take a pic of it. I was bored, and i thought i'd try something a little fancier.

I used a black t-shirt over an A3 sized board as the backdrop and one of these to prop up the book.

I also had a simple halogen spotlight to cast some more light on the book.

what iso did you shoot at? Also halogen can highlight noise on certain colours, try doing it raw then tune the wb

Stupidly, I had the camera on auto (i know, how very amateur hehe ), so i'm not sure what the iso was set at. Probably more than it should been.

My camera is a Cannon S2 IS, so i can't shoot in RAW (i don't think).

I would have another go in manual mode, but the item has been listed already. They're certainly good enough pics for Ebay.

It only has a range of 50-400 in manual setting, so i'm guessing 400 is as high as it goes.

My brother has nicked my tripod and left it at work, so once i get it back off him, i'll try again.

One thought is that the colour varies quite a lot across the subject from slightly pinkish in the top right to quite blue in the bottom left. Maybe using only one sort of light would help.
