Hi,

I've been watching the Z3M Coupes for a while now, and they seem to vary hugely in asking price. What should I be looking to pay for a good car with sub 50k miles? Is there anything I should be looking out for? Anything that needs to have been done?

Also, does anyone know the number of cars by colour in the UK? Thinking grey looks good.

Thanks,

James

Yes prices do vary greatly on these, but there tends to be a reason unless you are very lucky. I'd say for a good S54 at under 50k miles a fair price would be around £14.5-17k. A good S50 wth under 50k would be £13.5-15.5k. The low milers are always more money. I paid quite a bit extra to get a low mile AUC car that had a BMW warranty. You pays your money.........

They grey is the best colour if you ask me but they are rare. Next best is estoril. Think the guy in Newbury that deals in them has one for sale though......check out the z3m coupe website.

As said above check the forums for all (and more) info you need - the members are a great bunch.

Cheers

Bloody Hell. I just bought a 15,000 mile "56" Z4M Roadster for £18,400 through BMW AUC. I owned a 2000 Z3M Coupe for a year in 2001. I loved the car but performance wise it isn't a patch on the 343bhp engined cars. Furthermore, the Z4M Coupe & Roadster will return 26/27mpg. The Z3MC will give you 23/24 if you are lucky.
But it's a classic biggrin

I averaged 28mpg in mine taking it to Corsica. Mix of motorway and Mountain roads and full load and full throttle biggrin but who buys a car like this and worries about fuel consumption?

To OP, about 660 RH drive cars were imported to Britain, and indeed grey is very rare. Estoril Blue, Silver and Black are the most 'common'. Prices are varying so much at the moment depending on condition of car, it's history inc CAT rating and how desperate the owner is to sell. 10k cars about seem to be CAT D. or high milers.

I have been thinking of selling mine as I am really not using it and don't know where to pitch it as the prices are so variable and on paper no real reason. Happy to do a deal!

The key line there is "Z4M Roadster"...........

S50 MCoupes can be picked up for as little as £10k nowadays but they seem to be mileage sensitive.

Buy on condition as opposed to mileage.

Yes, there are some leggy (80-100k miles) bargains out there at £10-£12k!

The irony being that an 80k miles S50 has probably done less than average mileage. To call it leggy is probably a tad harsh....
