I think the car was listening when someone suggested TVRs aren't supposed to be reliable, either that or it doesn't like the rain.

24 hours after I picked it up back in september it refused to start, the problem was quickly traced to there being no power at the fuel pump, bodged it with a bit of wire out through the number plate light down the back of the car to the pump. A week later when I went to fix it properly no trace of the original problem could be found. All the fuses were intact, the relays all worked fine, wired it back up and all was great.

The fuel pump was replaced in octoberish with a bosch 044 when I broke the original taking the tank out to repaint it and to replace the cradle.

Everything was still fine until last night when it just stopped. Everything else electrical seemed to be working, just not the pump. After a bit out shouting and getting rained on I started looking around at the bits of relevant wiring that were in the (relatively) dry, the wiring in the passenger footwell all seemed happy, nothing looked broken and nothing was wet. Turned the key, disarmed the immobiliser, still no pump. Poked around under the dash, and found the imobiliser, that looked fine. got bored waiting for assistance (lights tools etc) to arrive, tried it again and it started first time.

I'm very tempted to rip the immobiliser out and throw it in the bin where it belongs, before I do that is there anything else that is likely to cause this sort of problem?

I think there's a fuel pump relay that can play up aswell as another relay in there that is the same type - worth searching the chim forum as I've seen this issue on there a few times when I've strayed to the dark side!

The fuel pump relay is not just a relay. It is in fact an electronic circuit board that detects ignition pulses to enable the relay which is mounted on the same printed circuit board.
They suffer badly from vibration and it is very common for the soldered connections to the relay and output pins to crack.

Normally re-soldering these will cure 99% of all known faults.

Could this be the dreaded yellow connector syndrome? Have you checked the ignition connector? Any signs of overheating?

Can you define everything

All the lights, starter motor, heater fan, gauges, immobiliser, dash lights, wipers. Assorted things that are both permanantly connected and things on an igntion switched supply.

Where do I find the dreaded yellow connector? I've seen plenty of photos of charcoal ones but don't know exactly where it is.

I think I'm going to have to try to get the garage tidy enough that I can put the car in it so I don't have to work around the weather and the light.

Its connected between the ignition switch and the rest of the wiring
