Le Surrey Run - part deux
Discussion
Having just received a brochure from Sea France with some really good discounts, I thought I might as well start the ball rolling regarding next years Le Surrey Run - part deux.
The intended destination is Reims, staying at The Holiday Inn (see address below for the right one!)Holiday Inn Garden Court
REIMS CITY CENTRE
46, rue Buirette
REIMS, 51100

After a successful trip in September, I thought it would be a grand idea to plan another trip to the lovely open roads of France. The date will be the first weekend in September (3rd, 4th and 5th). As we were all knackered by the early start on the Saturday, I thought we could catch a ferry on Friday evening and stay in France.
Your thoughts please.
If we book a ferry this early, the discount if quite large.

Not that I'm poking my nose in - Ok I am, but why, when going to France, don't you stay in a French hotel instead of a 'souless' International tower-block? I can highly recomend the Hotel Angleterre in Chalons which has lovely rooms and a fabulous restaurant and is FRENCH! Chalons is also very handily placed for Epernay for Champagne shopping and is easily accessed from the motorway. The hotel also regularly have 'week-end' deals.
Fair point qualityscrew, but in the event Mrs T decides on Holiday Inn, I can honestly say that it is actually a VERY nice hotel as they have completely refurbed the inside and the rooms are quite spacious. It is smack in the centre of town with a massive car park next door. The hotel has its own car park which costs about £5 per day. The rooms are typically around £40 per night but in terms of the quality of the rooms itself, I would rank it 4 star quality. Brekkie is served on the top floor, nothing special but it suffices. I have been to Reims 3 times and each time I choose to stay there! Reasonably cheap and good quality!
Count Me and KerryAnn in on this, We will book now and do all the arranging, so it will be a last chance of single freedom blast before we get married.

Good to see you are planning to come, does that mean more French doughnuts?

Hi Beemer,
The reason why we pick this weekend is because the kids have gone back to school, so it's less chaotic on the roads. It's just after the bank holiday so that's restrictive too (and France has re-opened!). We did the trip on the same weekend this year so hence the repeat. We have booked some ferry tickets so it's pretty much concrete.

Come to France, all the Goodwood Classic cars will be just one year older. Will much have changed?.(sorry for being cheeky )

Its true, we had a great time this year .. ok we need to get ourselves a little more organised, but the routes were good, the general organisation was top notch, the roads were empty, and presented a great opportunity to push the TVR to the limit.
Ihave just submitted my holiday requests in for next year ... my Boss thinks Im crazy
