Cold weather always helps when taking photos of steam. Great photos, especially like the last one.

Waiting for the day when Tornado makes a trip to my neck of the woods, make a change from the usual steamers we see.

Lovely selection of photo's and I'd love to see the machine in motion at some stage.

I like the third one, (not the desaturation effect though) it looks like a drag race biggrin

Fantastic shots. Looks great against the clear blue sky. Here are some from York over Christmas.

confused It appears to be called "The Talisman" according to the name plate on the front? Is "Tornado" the engine type or something?

'Tornado' is the name of the locomotive, 'The Talisman' is/was the name of the train.

Many trains were/are named, such as The Golden Arrow, The Cheltenham Express, The Night Mail. They were/are pulled by locomotives which may be named themselves. The obvious 'anomaly' is the Flying Scotsman which is both the name of a locomotive and the name of a train.
