Hello all, a slightly dull topic I know but I’d still be interested if anyone has had a similar problem and if so how they fixed it. I own a tuscan mk 2 with pod dashboard, i.e. it has TVR’s own aluminium indicator stalk. Recently the stalk wouldn’t engage the left indicators properly (they clicked off before I’d turned) and became looser and looser until it dropped off! I removed the cowling surrounding the pod, found the bolt and washers that previously held the stalk and fixed it back in to place. However, despite a couple of good squirts of WD40 the left indicator still clicks off prematurely and the stalk still works it’s way loose unless I tighten it up- at which point neither the left or right indicators will engage! My guess is that some kind of switch within the indictor assembly has worn out and needs replacing- has anyone done this and if so can they let me know where they got the part? I’ve spoken to Racing green but they weren’t sure- I know with the ford sourced switch gear in tuscan mk3s the whole assembly lifts out and can be replaced. I suspect it’s a reasonably simple job, but with removing and replacing the steering wheel and cowling it’s time consuming and therefore probably expensive to put right through a TVR garage. As I said, slightly dull! Thanks, John

I would be interested to know if the 'cancel function' for the indicator is in the stalk bit or the steering column. The indicators on my Tam don't self cancel. Not quite the same problem but may be related? Simple job to remove and replace and bits are not too dear thanks to good old Ford Focus!

Cant help with the first one but also had the problem with indicator not cancelling. Simple solution was a plug becoming disconnected on a simple board on the underside of the steering column...was on a Mk 2 tuscan with pod tho...

on yours there is a self cancel tab built into the switch, on the tuscan two there is a disc and sensor located on the column after the cowling the sensor has a ribon going to it with steering wheel straight the gap in the ring should be in middle of sensor

you can check if its the switch when you remove it by checking the movement the plastic toggle with the switch in turning position, can also go out of sinc if wheel has been removed and re-centred if tracking has been done.

OK I will check this first. Its only in one direction, when the offside indicator is used, which seems a little odd. Don't know if the tracking has been done before I got the car.

Need a bit more help with this from somebody if possible....

I have checked it and the indicators do cancel but it takes 3/4 turn of the wheel when the near side indicator is engaged and 1/2 turn of the wheel when the other side is selected, to actuate the cancel mechanism. Is there any way I can correct this? can it be re-centred?
