Anyone know any good rides on the Manchester side of things? I'm looking at doing this next weekend:

Just wondered if anyone had any other rides around there.

I went to Grizedale today. All I'll say is that it was pissing cold hehe

I'd suggest getting a 1:25,000 OS scale map of the area. There are plenty of great rides in the area - pick out your own route from the many bridleways: you'll need a map if you head up on to the moors too (& compass I would suggest).

Re: Ladybower - look to the hills to the West and East of the reservour to make a route. Cut gate track is to the North too... well worth a trip even if its an out-and-back ride.

Also try Edale valley - south west of ladybower. Some great trails heading west and south / south west (Hollins cross, rushup edge)

Ladybower is more on the sheffield side btw - nice drive over snake pass to get there though.

You can also start some great rides from Glossop (or near glossop), which is very easy to get to from Manchester.
