Only had my Cerbie since October and only done about 300 miles so far due to crappy weather

Anyway, taking it down to Verona Italy in 3 weeks time for its new life down in Europe!

Journey is just under 1000 days which I plan to do over 2 days.

Am getting a service done week before to check over everything - it has only done 1500 miles since last service in March 08

What should I be worried about - anything likely to fail ? Will take some oil in case, but anything I should be carrying...?

Its a Speed 6 but rebuilt by TVR Power 3000 miles ago

Any advice appreciated

Cheers

On this page they advice what to take, I know it is for a Chimaera but most items will be needed for a Cerbie as well.

Sounds great! smile I always carry; fire extinguisher, oil, water, cable ties, electrical tape, big fuses, relays and mixed normal fuses, tyre weld. Wouldn't know what to do with them, but it's great to know they're there! tongue out Not sure if that is helpful....

Safe trip! smile

Mine has one can or tyre weld and thats it. Not done any major trips in it yet so not really a problem. If i was you i would get one of the throttle cable repair kits, about £15, oh an AA international....

All of the above except dont take Einstein.
I driven to Germany about 5 times and also trips to Belgium in my Tuscan.
Same with my Chimaera to Germany many times and also South of France.
And also in my Wedge, to Switzerland and Germany many times.
Never a problem.

Just enjoy the driving (and the friendly comments) and a little bit of fingers crossed.
Sounds like a nice trip.

Make sure you take a camera!

We want pictures of the journey!

Video of you through mont blanc tunnel with that Perry Como song blaring would be nice too!

Simon,
Its maybe worth talking with the peolpe who are going to service the car for you. Tell them what you are proposing to do and ask them if they can put a touring spares pack together for you (fan belt, bulbs, oil, throttle cable, fuses etc). It won't be expensive and some service agaents will actully provide these on a SOR basis.

Enjoy the trip.

Thanks for your help guys....

PS:
Which way down is best :
1) Straight through France, Dijon, Mont Blanc to Turin, across to Verona or
2) Half way down to France, Strasbourg, Switzerland, North Italy?

Google maps reckons there is only 30 miles in it but which is quickest and more beautiful??

Don't forget you need a high-viz for each occupant of the car which has to be to hand without getting out ie. not in the boot and a warning triangle in many parts of Europe. A spare bulb set is also advisory as is carrying your V5 and insurance docs at all times.

Ah - but the point is that if you don't take these things, you will need them. If you have spares, nothing will break.
