September 12 2004 Silverstone 1000km

Anyone interested in making this an official PH gathering?
I have been to the ELMS or FIA GT races in England for a few years now and it usually makes for a good weekends racing.
There is a good campsite right next to Silverstone so we can re live the joys of LM but on a smaller scale.
Anyone fancy it?

I'd be up for that - haven't been to any GT's this year at any british circuit (the joys of sorting out an old house....) so I'm planning to 'overdose' next year!.
Which campsite were you thinking of (the one at the golf club?)?

Golf Club camping, thats the one.
Not sure of its oficial name, its the only place i have camped there.

I too missed a lot of the GT races this year due to other commitments.
Overdosing is now essential

I think it's Whitlebury Park - stopped there a couple of times when the FIA GT's were on in May last year and the year before.

There's a path from the campsite to one of the entrance gates of the circuit - and they have fairly decent showers !

I'll pencil it in the diary for next year....

Bit too far in advance to say but would love to go.

Not seen any Le Mans style races live so it would be another thing to tick off the list!

Response is looking good already.

I shall start digging for info about this race, tickets, camping, hotels etc and perhaps we can organise a PH gathering and all stay at the same place.
(Camping probably being the best option to create a mini Le Mans).

Dont expect any info yet though as its a bit too far away to know who will be racing!

I help put together a Le Mans tour every year (52 tickets this year) and enjoy organising it and creating news letters etc so I'll gladly do this Silverstone meeting too.

I'll post more info here as I get it.

(Edited to say: Ted, not trying to promote anything for profit if thats what it sounds like! Just trying to organise a get together for GT fans.)
