'We'll Stuff Sauber' Vows Jordan
Discussion
Eddie Jordan claims that Giancarlo Fisichella has made a mistake in joining Sauber - even though he admits his own team doesn't have an engine deal for next year.
After two disappointing and frustrating seasons at Jordan, the Italian has opted to jump ship for Peter Sauber’s team. Jordan, though, reckons that his team will be ahead of the Swiss-based outfit in 2004.
"I don't consider the Sauber team any better than Jordan, although they have a little more money. I wanted Giancarlo in a top three or four team because invariably Jordan bounces back from its reverses.
"I would expect that next season we will be stuffing Sauber," Jordan told the People.
Unfortunately for Eddie that boast hasn’t quite been boosted by recent events, which include being hit by a £1m bill for his ill-fated court case against Vodafone.
Nor has Jordan managed to secure an engine deal yet. According to the Irishman, the fee demanded by Daimler-Chrysler is now in excess of £10m.
"I just hate the fact that we were led to believe the engines would be priced at £6.95million or less. It's frustrating because we agreed a figure and then it changes by the time the contracts were drawn up," Eddie told the newspaper.
"As regards Ford and the deal they came to us with, it's more than the £6.95 million. They wanted to use the Jordan name and have space on the car but I'm afraid we don't just give space away for free."

Eddie Jordan has lost credibility ...the HHF sacking before the german GP (DHL major sponsors then)...the Vodafone fiasco. He'll be struggling to beat the Minardis...so expect him to go like Arrows.
Well done Fisi for the move
Hate to say so as I loved Jordan to be a success, but I agree with the above.
