Excuse my ignorance, but any contracting work that I have done in the past has been done via contacts.

I have submitted my CV and covering note to one recruiting company for a specific job they have listed on their website, listed with contact person A. I phoned A yesterday and he said he was still going through his inbox after being away or a couple of days and would get back to me either way.

If I am interested in further jobs listed with the same company under contact A
- should I submit a further CV and note via their website for each job
- should I just call A again at the risk of being slightly harassing

If I am interested in further jobs listed with the same company under contact B
- should I submit a further CV and note via their website for them ?

I guess I'm not sure if they are likely to have an automated document management system, whereby it's easiest to submit a CV/note for each and every job or not.

At the moment I am inclined to call up B and just ask them.

Historically, if I'd applied for a job at a particular agency and they had my CV already, I would call the person named. If I called and got through to the person I had already dealt with, I’d ask if they could help (usually they don’t as they have specific clients they each look after).

With regards to being a nuisance, having dealt with agents several times over the last few years, I fin if you don’t call them and keep in touch, they'll forget you. I wouldn’t be calling multiple times a day asking for updates but you certainly need to keep in touch and make sure you're at the front of their minds when a suitable role comes in.

Good luck

Just pick the phone up and speak to someone. Mention A's name, but sitting there wondering how to do it wont get you a job. Keep calling A until he speaks to you. To be honest, if a couple of days have now passed and he hasnt called you, the chances are he has looked at your CV and you arent right. He should have called to let you know that, but unfortunately it's not always the case. So just pester him until he speaks to you - if you've got time on your hands.

I've never sent an agent a CV without phooning them first and askign some detailed questions about the position. Its amazing how often it soon becomes obvious that the advert is just a phish.
