Hi Everyone wavey

First of all, apologies that it seems to have taken some time to finalise but the details for SCH09 are now confirmed.

Where: The Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, Wark's
http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk
When: Sunday 7th June, 10.00-16.00.

For those of you unfamiliar with S Club, here are a couple of links to last years event...
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

I looked back through the posts relating to SCH08 and the date wasn't confirmed until 25/1 - I think it feels a lot later this year simply because people have been asking for info about S Club earlier than they have in previous years, so hopefully that means we did something right last year and/or we'll be in for a record attendance this year!!

Also Mycroft (Dale), Dave M (Dave), Gozzy (Mark), Barkychoc (Chris) and me (Ian) started to discuss a venue earlier than last year and it was a difficult decision, especially after the success of 2008. Unlike last year we have struggled to find convenient times for us all to meet up and there were so many different venues/events on our "shortlist" to choose from.

However we were keen to try a different venue to keep things fresh so in the end we went for Gaydon because:
-It will be free access to the S Club area for all TVR's
-There will be something to entertain attendees other than a car park of TVR's (as if that isn't enough!)
-Toilets, refreshments etc are already on site
-It's reasonably central
-The date does not clash with school holidays
-The only costs will be for entry to the actual museum itself for those that want to. We will have a reduced admission fee of £7 compared to the normal £9 provided you can produce evidence that you are with SCH09 (TVRCC membership card, print of this thread etc)
-There are camping or hotel options nearby, more details will follow on these.

As last year on the day we will:
-Run competitions for best of each model, loudest etc
-Have a mass scenic drive for 30-40 min's to and from Gaydon at some point during the day
-Hold a raffle for charity. This will depend on 2 things....Firstly some prizes, so if you run or know of a business (whether directly related to TVR's or not) that can offer a prize please let us know. Secondly we will need a charity to donate the £'s to. Please feel free to email any of us with suggestions and we'll give it some thought.

As with anything like this we appreciate it is impossible to please all of the people all of the time, but hopefully enough of you will be happy to turn up and make the day a success.

One of us will provide updates at regular intervals between now and 7th June. All you need to do is finish those small winter jobs like getting bodies back on, fitting engines etc and try to get there biggrin

Cheers for now,
Longers

You're a star Chris.

I'd have done it from the mobile Broadband but I don't seem to be able to find a cable to squeeze the fax down... hehe

Sounds good. Lets just hope that it doesn't clash with Zolder (like last year).

Fingers crossed! Latest contact I had with TVRCC was 25/1 when they confirmed there was nothing else in the diary for that date apart from the Harewood Hill climb.

idea Perhaps we could have S Club at Zolder one year.....? hehe

Hi Dave

Having the body looked at tomorrow on the white car (I presume thats Geralds mate?? Unfortunate turn of phrase as it was known as Lucy previously and SWMBO is concerned that we might finish up with a load of little TVRs)

Then I will be making a decision about restoring or not, will report the outcome.
