Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc etc Still want one?

I watched top gear also
It may be technically a better vehicle but its still a FORD which means for me there is no passion, so I would still choose a Ferrari or Lambo eveytime.
Its bit like the question "would you buy a Skoda ?" Faboulous cars, tremendous build quality but I still wouldn't buy one.
Each to his own.

Even though they are responsible for the Cosworth range, Mustangs, RS200 and Formula Ford and Forula One contributions?
Lack of passion? Oh and what motorsport passion do Lambo have? Didn't they make Tractors?

I know it's half term, however I'd have thought that you would have got some decent replies by phrasing the question along the lines of "What do you Ferrari/Lambo/Maser fans think of the new GT?.blah...blah...blah"... whereas in the manner of your eloquent post, I'm guessing that most people have chosen to ignore you!

Are people really influenced by these short reviews.
It seems to me that almost every new high performance vehicle receives rave reviews but in a short passage of time there is little unity in opinion
Take the lambo gallardo, wonderful spec ect and yet the car seems to fail in many areas that it needs to be special.
Im sure the GT40 is a great car but its the old muscle engine route, engine froma truck ect and £100K is a bargain??
We all fall for the hype but it seems to me with each reincarnation the quality of the product actually gets worse in so many ways

Could your choice be in some way age related?
Those of us around when these cars were racing may have always wanted one whereas you mere youngsters out there may not have the same sentimental feelings towards these cars - so you'll maybe stick with the more modern supercars.
Mind you since there's no bleedin headroom, no thanks!

Ouch! Easy Tony. I wasn't trying to solicit ANY replies to my posting I was being ironic after the last post about the new Gallardo. "New Gallado still want one"
I find it funny that the majority of posts and replies were gushing about the Gallardo in the first instance but after the fith gear review it's now in to slag it off and this is before we've seen one on the road or had a report from a Pistonheader who has had the pleasure of living with one for any amount of time (although it's unlikly an owner would slag it off untill it's been sold on).
In answer to you 355F. Yes it's therefore clear that people are influenced by these short reviews. Well , maybe the people that can't afford them
PS I include myself amoung those that can't.
PPS I never did like the Gallardo
PPPS I do love the Ford
well I agree!!
I think the point is that Jeremy clarkson, love him or loath him( i quite like him) changes his mind like the wind all in the interests of mass journalism of which he has a unique niche. But true motoring journalist he is not! therefore I find any comments he might make as being worthy of a wry smile!!

Sorry.... the "irony" bit went straight over my head....
FWIW... I'd take a GT over a Gallardo, but that's quite easy as I'm not a fan of the Gallardo from a styling point of view.

Your on the money Matey, just read the Autocar comparison of the GT vs 360 and they are going on about the 360`s poor handling as i remember in the past the 360 was praised for its handling it seems after a little time it becomes fashionable to
run down a car , or is it

355 v 360 in Italy.

Hi there
now that would be interesting. I do rate tiffs opinion, what did he have to say about those two models.
I ask as I was going to swop mine for a 360 and although the 360 might be a bit quicker to me it lost so much in the process, especially in build quality (not a 355 strong point have to admit)
Jeremy clarkson is a case in point, he described the 355 (when he had one until a few months ago) as one of the nicest ferraris in terms of style. On last night programme it was 'a dated car' not worthy of a mention!! only the 288gto was considered as worthy of a ferrari great.
guess this thread shows that when you get up into 'unjustifiable car purchase' land (or 'those stupid toys of yours' as my sister is wont to say ) you're best off deciding what YOU like, and not what a tele program says. I think that the GT wil kick the a*s out of the others in a value for money and perfomance way (it is a lot quicker than the 360 and likely the Gallardo too and cheaper than both) - but then if that were the only relevant info then everyone on this particular subset of pistonheads would be driving Ultimas - cos they murder everything here for much less cash.
It just aint about that I 'spose!
Personally...I cant get a GT if I want one....they're so overbooked it's scary. Was amused that Clarkson was saying 'you can go into a Ford dealer in Barnsley (or wherever he picked) and order one' - I think not....
