Forza 2: XBL & Freezing issues
Discussion
I've just been having a read about issues i've been suffering from and thought it may be something you chaps would be interested in.
Q: I have won a tournament race but do not show up in the bracket for the next round. Why are the wrong people advancing to the next round?
A: You have most likely suffered from a "split lobby"; a problem that occurs when two users cannot connect to each other due to strict NAT settings. As a result two competition rooms are created, yet only the results from one room are accepted by the server. This means that players will not be advancing to the next round even if they placed first in their tournament room. In order to prevent this from happening we advise that all players connect directly to their modem when entering a tournament room. This will lower the chances of those players running into this problem. If you experience a split lobby the best thing to do is e-mail us immediately at forzafb@microsoft.com. We will do our best to re-schedule the race.
Q: My game freezes when I go into my Career Garage? What can I do to fix this?
A: We have seen reports of this happening, and have determined that this issue occurs when users have a very large collection of cars with customized liveries. In order to prevent your game from freezing you can press “X” in the garage to bring up a list of cars that will allow you to navigate without having to load all the individual paintjobs. We also recommend that you use the Design Catalogue if you have duplicate cars with different paintjobs. You can save designs into the catalog and delete the duplicate car, thus clearing un-necessary cars from your garage.

Don't know about the first one but the Career Garage...
Mine is slow now I have buckets of Custom Cars.
I tend to get rid of everything I don't regularly race in. Helps speed it up. I put them on the Auction dead cheap just to get rid. Kind of Karma for me as I help out the Newbies with cheap Porsches!
Though I find it embarrassing that the Game is programmed in such a way as to slow down as you Unlock and Complete more elements of it. Shame really as it is really annoying when you click... wait... click again and then a blur of activity... like having lack of RAM on your PC

So, if my understanding is correct the issue with compatibility could be solved by using an ethernet cable from the box to the router instead of the wireless hoojamaflip.
Not quite - the router is the problem, not the wireless. To eliminate NAT problems like the article says you would need to connect your XBox directly to the modem. This is only needed though if the connection test fails - if you're NAT is open then this shouldn't be an issue.Of course if you have NAT problems and an integrated modem/router, then you're stuffed!
