The Boxster Porsche should make...but won't
Discussion
This month's Evo (with the wacky new Skyline GTR on the front) has a review of the RUF Boxster.
In summary, RUF have shoehorned the 3.4 from a 993 into the engine bay (presumably removing the old lump first). Gearbox has to be mounted the other way round (yet the shifter is in the same place....hmm)
Goes like stink apparently, and the shifting round of the 'box has preserved the handling. Aside from that its pretty much stock (the S's brakes are retained as is, for example). But you do get a set of 911 seats for your brass.
Shaves a second from the 0-60, and tops out at 175 (or should that read "The speedo is only calibrated to 175 ?!!)
Not THAT dearer than an S...will check price tonight, unless anyone else chips in. David Vivian described it as a "mid engined 911"
