Cover me up,its getting cold - Advice on CarCovers
Discussion
Wondered if I could get some advice. Unfortunately my Chim has to live outside and I am looking to find out what is the best cover to buy. Seems the breathable ones are the best but I need to know who to buy it from. Also I have been told that it is better if they do let some moisture through. Covercraft have been mentioned and a company called Kover-it. What price should I pay? Kover-it have their top one for £139 and it has door zips and under belly straps. Thanks in advance.
I use the Covercraft Weathershield cover and we live on an exposed west facing hill so it's usually pretty breezy. The paintwork has no scratches after a year of use. Check it over at VW later today. Plenty of stone chips
but no scratches! Must be something to do with keeping the car waxed so well! Anyway it's easy to use and dries very quickly. www.covercraft-europe.com/car.html

Try these guys. I have one and its fantastic, very well fitted and has a very soft and fluffy inside so it will not scratch. They are custom made for each model of car and they do fit well...even on an odd car like a Tamora. www.carcoversuk.com
One thing with the Custom cover, the 'parking permit kit' is a joke. It's actually a repair kit. It's a sheet of plastic and some epoxy glue. You have to glue the plastic to the cover and cut the cover to be able to put the permit in adn take it out (otherwise someone might nick it). Not impressed.
Also the 'security cable' isn't adjustable so you can't tighten it to the car and prevent a steel cable and padlock flapping around in the breeze.
And the cover I was sent (Chim 4.5) didn't have the nice 'ears' for the wingmirrors that they show in the pics.
Apart from that, it's a good car cover.
