Pro Tyre do laser alignment by all accounts (near Macro in Poole) tho I haven't been there. Also I think I have heard that Kwick Fit on the Bearcross roundabout also has laser alignment.

Jamie, although it's not too near Bournemouth I know, but Micheldever tyres have this.

The chap seems to know what he's doing too, when I tipped up in mine he said it needs to be set up with half a tank of fuel so he sent me away to fill up!

Really seemed to take his time, showed an interest in my car and was really fastidious about getting the steering wheel absolutely dead centre too, with almost military precision. I had commented about the fact that it annoys me if it isn't dead centre and he said he was of the same fussiness with his own cars. It is spirit level perfect now, which satisfies my OCD side nicely smile

I took my mx5 to Christchurch tyres, they have a hunter alignment system, friendly bunch and happy to let you stand around and watch/ask questions/etc smile (cheap too, was about £40)

Recently took my M5 there (Pro-Tyre, Poole) to get a new pair or rear tyres... They damaged one of my alloys, tried to fob me off with 20quid to fix it, and then didn't inflate the tyres to anywhere near the manufactur's spec....!!

When i asked what they'd inflated them to i got "about 32 psi mate.." My car has min of 39 psi so that's a fair bit out..!

Shocking! Not a hard job is it.

Pro Tyre are rubbish.
they snappee one of my geo bolts on the rear camber after forcing it to unlock, then tried to charge me for the labour of re-fitting it. Of course I refused and said it was the origional price of £85 or nothing, as I had the keys to my car in my hand rather than behind their desk. I paid the £85 and left, not to return.

Its strange to think that people are doing quite important work to your car when they are not mechanics. They are people with no qualifications, fitting tyres or undoing nuts and bolts until the machine tells them to stop.

It might be worth trying Gates of Brockenhurst, they always advertise in the programs at Gurston down (hillclimb) for doing geo set ups and as the owner actually competes you've got to think its a pretty good bet! I also gather Christchurch tyres are quite good.

If you want a trip up then Supertracker (http://www.supertracker.com) in Southampton are worth a shout. They make the machines that most of the others use (inc Micheldever) so if they dont know how to use them then nobody does. Speak to Nick.
