Hi,
I have a Morgan, but am asking this question here becasue it will likely get a quicker response and applies to TVRs as well..

I want to treat my chassis, to protect it from rust and the elements.

I have seen this

http://www.rust.co.uk/epoxy-mastic.cfm

I have also heard of POR15 but people say to stay away from that one.

Any suggestions of what to use.

There is an interesting discussion on this thread which may help..

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I am trying to find out about getting the chassis parts nylon coated, not many people do it though.

I've not heard this, it's supposed to be very good... in fact i am in the middle of doing mine with it. Just don't get it on your skin, it won't come off eek

to quote myself about epoxymastic..

I did mine using EMP and it sticks to clean metal, pitted metal, original powder coat no problems. This was confirmed by the suppliers before I bought it as well.

Takes about 24hrs to dry and resist rough handling (ie. hit with a hammer!), then a further 14 days to fully cure.

The 1ltr kit did 2 coats of my front wishbones plus outriggers with maybe enough left to do the rear suspension when I get time.

I then used Dinitrol 4941 over the top, mainly to squirt into the corner plates etc that cannot be got to without a body off.

I wanted to make a joke about using Ronseal, but thankfully my brain engaged first paperbag

POR15/Dinitrol all supposed to be good.

Also there's a thread in the Cerbera section running on a similar thing

I've used black or grey POR15 on everything that was rusty underneath including the outriggers, hub carriers, anti roll bars etc. etc. Also bought a POR15 brake caliper kit. Very happy with the results so far with no flaking or cracking issues, but the proof will be in another 5 years time I guess.
