Anyone with pics, links or general good info on a 930 4 speed installation?
Had a search but only found a couple of short posts.
Cheers.

Hi,

What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a four speed box in an Ultima?

Cheers,

David.

Hi David,

well I'm a simple sort.....so if there are more than four going forward I'll have to look at the stick to see where Im up to.....and whilst not looking where Im going will most likely crash!

Seriously though, I'm not sufficiently well-read to fully answer your question...for me its to do with matching the expectations from my particular engine combo with what I want from the car. The four speeders are supposed to be good strong basic units with availability of many ratios and upgrades.. just not too popular now...and a bit more difficult to install I believe.
Not at that stage yet but some quality installation info is due sometime soon!

So did you buy that part built-kit you were looking at?

When I first bought the car I had it in my mind that I had to have a 5 speed box I found one for sale and made the enquiry, the guy asked me what it was going in, I said it was to replace a 4 speed that was in an Ultima, he knew the car straight away and told me that I was totally wasting my time as the 4 speed had been matched specifically to go with the engine install which had all the correct ratios etc. She runs perfectly and is more than adiquate and to be honest I don't ever find myself looking for the fifth.
