Hey guys not sure if I'm in the right section here.... I own a Ford Opus, which is sorta a standard hotrod car, and a real classic. I own 2 of them, one in working condition, the other, in many pieces... I was just wondering if anyone else on here owns one, as there caren't be many left. And whether they know of a place that can supply parts? Many Thanks

Thanks for the information guys, mine has a V4 2.0 Corsair engine. Do you have the copy of that custom car magazine, or a photo of the Opus in that issue? Many Thanks

The only thing i remember about the opus V4 was that it was built around 1969/70 time by either custom car or a mag called Hot Car.It was at shows around this time,i think it was blue with twin headlamps,it had a roll cage,it may have been given away in a competition for the mag.I used to see it parked in a boat yard along chaney walk chelsea.Sorry i can,t help with any more details.

I phoned my cousin about this opus and he thinks it was "Hot Car" magazine that built the opus i was talking about, it had wide 10" mini wheels on the front with wide maybe 5 1/2 j ford 13inch rears. He seems to think it was around 1970 time,im sure you could maybe get a copy of the mag at an autojumble or at one of the stalls at santa pod that sells old mags.

Just going to leave the 16 crosflow in it as it is a genuine 41000 mile gt from a mark 1 capri with a 2000e box and 4.428 diff it is quite quick as it is definatily need to get discs on the front so it can at least stop

Hi all, just thought I would drag up this old topic!

My brothers and I have recently inherited an Opus HRF from our father who died last year.

He bought the Opus as a kit around 1969 and built it himself. I don't know exactly which parts he used, but it is all trashed now as it has been in storage since my oldest brother was born in 1974! The downside to a 2 seater I guess!
The Opus has always been off limits to us boys as it was his absolute pride and joy (even while it wasn't running!) - now we intend to bring it back to life as a tribute to him.

We are going to need to strip it down and rebuild it from scratch, so lots of work to do and it wont be particularly quick, but we will get there!

I would be interested to know if any of you guys still have your HRF's, and whether any are running?
Are there any in the UK?
We are based near Bristol, UK
