Hi all, I'm currently adding music to my 360, is it possible to transfer straight from my pc to the Xbox console rather than ripping from discs?
Also, can i copy pictures and the like from my pc onto the Xbox?
And my last question is, Why won't it let me rip music from DVD to the console?

Do you have an iPod? You can just connect up that and play your tunes while playing..
Or MP3, networked PC, external hard drive, memory stick......Can't copy from PC to Xbox though.
Don't know about the DVD thing, only ever ripped from CD when I first got it and streamed ever since then.
Sometimes I just chuck a film on a memory stick and just watch it from that.

I've no ipod at the moment, and would prefer to have as few wires as possible (currently have none visable in the room in question) and plugging an MP3/external hard drive in would create wires.
Might have to build a media pc i can use just for the Xbox and Live.
Cheers for the replies guys

I recently got a 'Buffalo Linkstation Live' network drive. It's got a media server built in, so all my music is dumped on that and the XBox happily streams music direct from it over the home network. Works very well. Means I don't have to keep a PC running just to serve up the mp3 files.

Got any links phil?Sure. I got this one:
linky
There are 3 different sizes, which is the only difference as far as I could see. Must say I'm very happy with it so far. Nice to use the media server without leaving a laptop on. Works well with my XBox for music, photos and videos, and was pleasantly surprised to find it also works perfectly with my 5 year old Netgear mp3 player via the network.
Also downloads torrents without a pc, but not tried that yet.
Even have an old laser printer plugged into the USB port, so it's acting as a print server. Does everything I need!
