I quite like the look of them and would be tempted but I fitted

http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/prod/wipac-quadoptic.html

with the 50% upgrade normal power requirements and street legal - absolutly delighted huge improvement over original electric candles

I've got them fitted (See my profile pic). I very rarely drive at night in the S so cannot say if they are better than the old lights (cannot be any worse!!!), I actually need to re-align them as I think at the minute they point more upwards than down.

I think they look ace - they really make the front end look a bit more modern to me, like its a much newer car trying to look retro if that makes any sense.

Edited to say ebay link doesn't work for me.

Love the look of those. I live down a badly lit country lane and the current lights are like candles in a jam jar!

I was considering the quadoptic too but if I buy these can I still fit the H4 +50% bulb?

The +50% bulbs shouldn't be a problem.
Mine are like a jamjar too - only mine still had the label on!

Steve

consider the "Extreme" H4 bulbs available from Halfrauds - they claim 90% better (dont say better than what mind so if its only 90% better than Chris' jamjar maybe its still not good) they were selling them at £18.00 buy one get one free...

I bought a pair for my daily motor and could see an improvement

they are still 55/65 W so no extra load and street legal

K wink

ps : personal choice I know but i didnt like he look of the clear crystal lenses so went for Quad Optics on mine and am pleased with the improved performance while retaining the retro look

The lights on ebay come with H4 bulbs but no sidelight bulbs. The fitting is the modern push fit type which fitted on the original spade connectors. Re used the H4 bulbs that were on the car to start with, guessing they were upgraded because the lights were pretty good even with the reflectors corroded.

Been considering these from SVC (Wipac Quadoptic) and they asked if I needed side lights fitted in the lens...is this usual?

Yes the sidelights are just below the main bulb inside the lense.
