What does everyone think to the man of a thousand questions (but close to zero knowledge)?

Love or loath? I've found the responses to be pretty hilarious, especially those in the 'car engine building' thread.

Do you think it's fun to have someone to shoot down in flames, or is it annoying to have put up with him?

I personally think the threads he's started have been most entertaining.

No-one's being forced to respond to his questions. And it's not as if you have to spend the time reading his posts, as he generally sticks to his own threads (I think).

The engine building thread has been a total Hoot today , the only thing that bugs me is when he`s offered advice he just says "nah not interested" i mean whats the point of asking ? , and my productivity has been virtually zero at the office today

You've got the entertaining posts of other Pistonheads to blame for that.

I hadn't even heard of him till he popped up with the engine building thing, and even then it took a few days to decide if he was taking the piss or not before going in for the kill. Mind you I don't read the Fwarwe threads where I think he's spent a lot of time. Strikes me he's a worthy replacement for Campbell who's been very quiet for a few months now hopefully he's got a new job and will be back soon.

I thought the engine building thread was the funniest thing on here. Bloody hilarious stuff - keep coming back for more. Although now I think he's posting far too many topics - I can't keep up! Ted - remove some posts! We don't need one for each question. I wonder if this is the Death from a while ago. Same sort of mental age despite whatever he may say.

Hey thats harsh on Cambell mel!

As for chassis, well I have ROTFLMAO. Don't mind the questions, wish he'd listen to the answers a bit more, but then I guess it's not mandatory to take the advice of any pistonheadder in the end...

Just taken the time to read through the messages by Chassis! But the responses from McNab are utter classics.... Ted, is there anyway that we can have these message threads framed in a Web-kinda-way?

McNab - how do you remain so calm? Maybe I can take a leaf out of your book!

For anyone wishing a little light entertainment...

Cheers,

Paul

Well lads, I didn't read the original post, but I read the subsequnt ones. And your mixture of amusing/sarcastic/helpful/piss-take comments.. and overall I think you have been very harsh on the poor lad.

Ok, so he has some very ambitious ideas - and possibly ones that will take a lifetime to make work, but please do him the service of not taking the piss?

Everyone has to start somewhere, and you may be surprised. This guy may start off being ridiculed by you, but one day (long odds I know) you may be driving a car created by him.

I don't think he'll make it work, but full marks for trying. Good luck mate, and don't take every comment as negative. Most of all, everyone should remember that having fun is the most important thing. Maybe "Chassis" will get a lot of entertainment along the way, and with sheer brute force of will power, manage to do something different.

I thank you for reading this - 'cos I am used to being the underdog who suggests stuff that everyone laughs at today - but is doing tomorrow !!!!!!!!!

Keep it rubber side down.

Carl.

Not as calm as you think Paul!! Despite kindly remarks from Ted and JSG and Carl it just doesn't add up.

I tried to be reasonable and got a load of crap for my trouble. So I reacted with nonsense and got unexpected silence. Felt guilty about the nonsense so I came back with the best advice I could offer. And so on.

Maybe I was wrong; maybe you'll all jump on me for it; fair enough, but right from the start I didn't believe that any 25 year-old could be so absolutely hopelessly ignorant. In 2002? Come on! Take a look at the English too - a subtle change as the posts developed.

My bet - and I'm a lousy gambler - two or more fourteen year-olds, perhaps with the help of an elder brother? Good luck to them anyway. They provided more entertainment than I've seen in a long time. Maybe they'd like to continue...

Agree with most here, yesterday was one of the funniest set of forum postings I think I've ever seen in 8 years of surfing.

And hey, if us English can't use a bit of irony here and there in measured doses, then we're in a sorry state as a nation.

For Chassis' sake, I hope the nurses catch up with him soon.

McNab, you are one FUNNY man.

ATB,

Greg

You are right McNab , you offered what i thought was sound advice re taking a cource and a bit of study and in my view he just threw it back in your face , if you are not prepared to hear the answer don`t ask the question.

But he has livened things up a bit , the gassing has been a bit dull recently

Brilliant topic content, although I guess, yes and yes are the answers to the original questions.
