slim line ps3 ?

does anyone know if or when the rumoured slim line ps3 is surpossed to be released , i can't find much on a search of the net but remember reading in t3 that it was being released late 08

You sure about this? I read a load about it but from what I gathered it was too just rumours.

I'd be interested in a Slimline PS3 as long as it doesn't have the lens problems the Slimline PS2 and DL DVDs had...

On a sidenote, surprised MS would bother with a slimlin 360, seems a bit late in life to bother...

They may need to extend the consoles life quite a bit now that the global financial crisis has buggered everything up for most companies.

I don't see them ever making a slimline PS3, the GPU used is that from a 7800gt, so you could call it a 'proper' GPU which are marginally bigger than the ones used in other consoles, so the PS3 becoming more slimline would most likely need alot of hardware changes, needing too much money and at times like these, thats not ideal. PC all the way imho.

Its going to be priced at £180 here in the USA, and I'm tempted to pick one up due to it being £70 cheaper than in England, but I think I'm just going to buy a good bluray player for £155 and keep to my xbox.
