Merry Christmas ALL!!xmas

How do you manage with the salt on the roads?? I haven't had the car before over the winter, and i havent yet(got to do it!!) checked my chassis and seal/paint them. So i don't know how long to wait after they salt the roads before it's good to go out in the S. I don't really ever use it in the wet anyway.

What do you all do??ears

I have to say that if the roads are wet/salty I would normally leave the S in its garage but if I had to use it everyday then I would just cover the underside with waxoyl or similar and give the car a good hose down at least once a week to remove any salt etc. Your worst enemy is SALT wet roads are ok just beware of SALT.
Cheers.....Tony..

+1
Mine stays indoor as long as the roads are salted. Added advantage is that major jobs can be done without hurrying.

So would you leave it in the garage te whole of the cold period? or just when the spreaders have been out the night before? Some days the roads are dry, the sun is out, and i'm dying to take the S out, but i know that a couple nights before, they salted the roads, so i'm 50/50 about taking her oot..frown

As long as the roads are dry I'm out whenever I get the chance. Keeping the chassis coated in waxoil will be fine. Every now and then I leave a garden sprinkler underneath mine to gently clean it rather than using the force of a high power pressure washer wink

Basically if the roads are wet with salt the car stays in the garage, if the roads are dry with a small amount of salt on the roads then I might take it out for a spin if I can't resist it. All year round I will not take her out in the rain unless I have to although having said that a small amount of summer rain will not do any harm.
Cheers.....Tony..

The salt will stay on the roads until rain flushes it away, so my car stays in till after the first spring rain.
