More Awards for 911 GT2

With 462bhp, you'd be hard pressed not to give it an award!

I have seen two of these in Porsche's salesroom in Paris yesterday...with stickers "sold"; they really look the business although the styling is not as overdone as on the turbo.

Hello marki, how are you?
By "overdone" I mean it's a bit too much of a head turner; the style of the GT2 is IMO a bit more subtle and has more class than the very bulky turbo...

RUF (turbo-r?) is nicer IMHO.
Oh that I was in a position to have the choice in the first place

The Turbo is less overdone! The GT2 has that black streak thing across the bonnet, lower front spoiler and all that. The spoiler at back looks bigger aswell!! Whats the big difference between the two anyway, other than a little horsepower?

I can understand people preferring narrow bodied RUF turbo cars (probably not in yellow!) as being 'less overdone' and 'more subtle' than wide arch turbo 911s.

But the GT2, as ninja-eli points out, is 99% the same visually as the turbo model. If anything, as ninja says, it is more overdone because it has an additional air vent above the bumper, plus a fixed rear wing and lower front splitter.

All they did was whack up the bhp a bit, put a 2WD transmission in and tweak the interior/exterior.

To a layman, the GT2 looks the same as a 996 turbo. How is it 'less overdone' then Thom?

Hi Thom i am fine thanks , where have you been hiding ?

i think the 993 Turbo beats both of them on looks , but then i also luv the Aero 8 for style

Then marki, you are clearly

Seriously though I think the gt2 looks less subtle (more overdone) than the turbo. I figure Porsche would want it that way too, its the most extreme car, and IMHO it looks more extreme.

Ahh yes the GT2,
had fun with one of these the other day - I pulled out of the car wash at the edge of town, and pulled up behind the GT2, we both then rocketed off up the slip roads onto the dual carraige way and then after a shortish distance we split up after a little wave from the driver. Didn't pull away from me though (in the 993 Turbo 408 vrs 460), but we only got up to about 100 mph, - I imagin the difference will be much more noticable after that or maybe he's still breaking it in. Great fun though scaring all the other cars - its if they where stationary compared to the 2 silver bullets!! (Yes I know v. irresponsible etc.).

I'm on holidays now so I don't have as much time to be in your company as I'm away from my school
I also have to spend some time on my car...some bits need a little look after

I also agree that the 993 is better looking than both the current cars...but sorry gentlemen, I really think the GT2 looks more classy than the turbo: I agree they really look the same but the GT2 is longer and that's why it doesn't give the same "bulk effect" the turbo gives (and which I don't fully appreciate).

oooooooo

I welcome original tastes to this forum. Doesn't mean I have to agree though does it? Still marki probably thinks I'm for not liking the aero. Still each to thier own.

Personally I think owning an aero 8 would be like having a seriously cross eyed kelly brock as your girlfriend. Fantastic but not quite perfect...

Hmm, aero is undoubtedly more desirable (expensive) than the MG, but IMHO not as good looking. Thats my opinion, and I'm too.

Now shut yer cakehole and go drive your 80's VW.

Peace and love guys

As for marki cool sig!
