WRC Mini? (sorry for the cross-post)
Discussion
Hope it doesn't get me into trouble! Also posted on the Mini forum, but...
Has anyone heard of any plans for a WRC Mini?
Is there any reason to expect that it wouldn't be a hardcharging nuts mobile?
Ford, Citroen and Peugeot have done pretty well with their smaller, former 2 wheel drive beasties, so why not BMW with Mini - it would introduce them to a rather large base of fans and into a new Motorsport.
I think it would be a great idea anyone concur?
Phil

saw something a while ago I think it was in CAR or TOP GEAR mag with pics of a full size model. Looked mental!
Then the other day someone I know with connections at BMW mentioned something about a 4 wheel drive mini with loads of power being worked on. Will believe it when I see it but lets hope

I'd imagine dimensions could a bit of a challenge - the MINI is a bit shorter in length than a 206, and Peugeot had to produce the ridiculous chin-spoilered 206 GT to get a homologation model over the minimum length.
Also the factory is still struggling to keep up with demand for MINIs as they go into more and more countries - I'd say any real motorsport as a marketing exercise is many years away.
