Is a 42DCNF a completely different beast? (presumably 42mm diameter).
Probably of no use but there's one in TVRCC classifieds, its on an essex V6 fanimold.

I've pasted the text below. Don't shoot the messenger!
He has a Holley carb aswell.

Have you got a manifold Dave?

Edited to add, they can still be bought new for 320 quid each. By the time you've paid 5-600 quid for used one sand had them rebuilt, you would be beeter of with the new.

Thanks for that. I've already spotted that one but apparently it wouldn't be any good. Its a bit pricey too.

Hi John,

I can pick up a manifold locally, but its rather more than £320. Where can I get one for that price? Don't forget that my engine is a cologne 2.9 and not an Essex. I've been quoted £380 each for new ones which I simply cannot afford so I'm going down the second hand route. Got my eye on a couple on ebay. If I get those for reasonable money I'll just need 1 more.

Dave,
If you can get cold air in and the exhaust gases out I would expect a significant difference. It should be a quick car next year - have you gone for a wilder cam to suit the extra carburation?

The cam is very wild, almost 1/2" of lift and a 304 deg duration (lots of fire expected on the over run). Runs like a dog until 3000rpm when it then sings like a bird. I'm sticking with the bonnet scoop (but a proper one instead of the converted door panel) for nice cold air and some ram air effect. Car is going to JP next month for a bigger bore and more efficient exhaust. All these mods would suit the triple set up perfectly. I have told you my secrets, now tell me yours wink

All honesty, I have none!

All I'm doing is trying to get the car running so it will finish every race next year (radical!!), loose some more weight of the car and me...and do something about getting cool air to the carbs. To be honest after that there's not much more I can do other than learn to drive it.

Had a bit play in the garage yesterday, and I wish the engine could stay put but it needs the heads sorting. Diff may well come out too as it makes some awful noises.

I'm spaking with ITG on filters at the moment rather than K&N for a triple carb set up. As it is the middle carb sees less air than the other two. I'll keep you posted cuase it should be a similar filter for yours.

All the best for the new year and hopefuly Dot is back to full strength soon - can't have underperforming pit babes..;)

If I can get the triple carb setup done (when funds allow) I will be making a large plenum chamber which will stick through the top of the bonnet, covered by the scoop. Two large pad filters will be fitted to the top of the plenum allowing up to about 700 cfm (well OTT) to flow through them. As all the carbs will be drawing from a large volume plenum, with common filters, air input to each will be equal.

All the best for the new year to you too mate. I'm sure Dot will be in fine fettle before the season starts!!!
