MK6 Golf in the flesh
Discussion
Dropped wife's Mk5 off at a main dealer this morning.
I was mooching sround the showroom and having a looksee at the cars kicking about. Spotted an odd looking radio in a Golf. Instantly hit be jealousy, I nosed in a bit further......
New MK6 in the flesh. It genuinely took the best part of a minute to clock it as a 6.
It is almost identical to the 5. Especially the bulk of the interior.
VW - lazy in the styling department.

It does seem a bit futile.
IINM, they've only created the Mk6 as it's cheaper to build?
Makes sense - create car virtually the same, sell to people who are either buying anyway or have to have the new model, fix small bits that weren't so good, flog at the same price as the old one. Job done.

I saw my first UK model in the flesh this week. They are very nice, and look better than the pictures suggest, but you can't help but notice the similarity to the MK5. The whole feel and looks about the car are very much the same, just with a few minor changes. However although I havent driven one yet it sounds like things have changed dramatically behind the scenes with the new TSI petrols and CR-TDI diesels and sharpened up handling. Certainly seems to be getting a lot of rave reviews by the press.
