I am ordering a new Boxster from Germany and wonder if anyone has any direct knowledge of using a paint protection system such asinvicta-shield or armourfend? The idea of not having stonechips seems a good one.Does it work? Canyou get just part of the car done eg front? Does it take polish like the ordinary paint and is it invisible?Has anyone had it done and do they recommend it?Any views on this will help.

Tony, you could try asking this on the TVR section as lots of those guys have it.

AF costs around a £1k for the entire car. It's not invisible and looks worst on silver/light coloured cars. Personally wouldn't bother.

If you are refering to the Amourfend then actually the TVR guys don't like it. The problem is that on a curvey car like the Griff (and Porsche) there is no real line to cut off the AF along so you end up with a visible line which just catches polish and dirt etc. Personally I wouldn't bother.
