Bags.....which one?
Discussion
I'm on a shopping role right now.
My missus has agreed to buy me a camera bag for Christmas and since I'm about to take possession of a lovely new lens, I'd like to have a bag to fit all my gear which no only looks good, but is practical, and very hard wearing.
I currently have a Crumpler side bag which is superb since it fits all my old gear nicely and is as tough as old boots, but these days I seem to have a lot more kit and it's getting bigger too....
Basically, my criteria is as follows. I need a bag that will fit:
- Canon 40D body with a 17-40mm f/4L lens attached
- EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens
- EF 50mm f/1.8 lens (not particularly relevant but will upgrade to f/1.4 in time)
- Canon Speedlite 430EX
- Lens hoods for all lenses
- 2 spare batteries
- Spare batteries for flash
It should also have spare room for an EF 24-70mm f/2.8L that I'd like to purchase in the next year or so.
I also mentioned I'm after a tripod, so outside clips to carry this too would be handy.
Any ideas and recommendations?

I can recommend the Naneu Pro urban range.
I have the U220, which is huge (like a suitcase) but comfortable to carry and will have all the space you need for the kit listed. The padded compartment used to house all your kit is removable, as is a padded compartment for holding a laptop (in a separate pocket). The lid of the camera compartment has 2 looped zips so you can access 2 parts of the compartment(for lens extraction) without having to open the whole lid. There is a side pocket and straps to take a tripod/monopod.
It is very well made and looks very strong and durable.
There is also a smaller version, the U120.
both available here
Hope this helps.

These looks nice but they're too big and I don't like carrying a ruck-sack much. Especially in hot weather....I have the U220, which is huge (like a suitcase) but comfortable to carry and will have all the space you need for the kit listed. The issue us that it gets quite heavy!
D
If you like crumpler check out their rucksacks. I've got a Crumpler Pretty Boy BackPak coming my way for Christmas. I think you could squeeze all your gear in that and I personally find them a touch more stylish than the LowePro stuff, and they look less like a bag containing huge amounts of expensive camera gear (from a security perspective).
That New Delhi 510 looks rather nice though
