Strange experience with purchases ...
Discussion
Well I ventured into Jessops about an hour ago and left very pleased and somewhat bemused ...
The guys in there were incredibly helpful, knew his stuff and offered me some very honest advice!!!
I am now £552 lighter and a Canon 450d, Canon 18-55mm lens with Tamron 70-300mm, and an 8gb card with £25 off canon products heavier.
Saving £50 on cashback I thought that was pretty good for a monkey.
Thumbs up to the 'tog in Jessops wasn't some store monkey. Although had I a bigger budget I would have opted for the 40d. Hey ho, I am very pleased but no have to wait for Christmas Day to have a play. Although my filters fit on the 18-55mm lens I am very happy about that saving another £40 without having to go buy a new set.
Now to sign up for a flickr account.
Thanks Guys

My local Jessops used to be excellent - now the saff have changed it's really poor.
I went in looking for the battery grip for my D300, and asked if they would price match - "Depends what I feel like" was the answer. I don't mind them not knowing about some products (hey, you can't know everything), but smart-arse answers will instantly loose my custom.
I walked out - went up the road and purchased from a small chain camera shop, which surprisingly was cheaper anyhow.

they are pretty good sometimes, I went in for a Hoya Pro UV filter priced £54 yesterday, walked out £30 lighter. If you don't ask for a discount you don't get
edited to say, good choice with the canon, enjoy
Right, now how did you do that!

Can't fault jessops for being helpful, looking for a new lens, go try it out in jessops first. If its Canon or Nikon, prices with cashback are few and far between. They can be exspensive on other bits though. Last time i was in there i think CF ultra 2 cards were £35, or something. Amazon 4.99.
