Please reccomend a compact camera

[s99ane]

Hi all,

could you pleas advise me on some of the best compact diigital cameras around.

I simply need one that is functional, can take it anywhere (compact), takes quality shots.
Im not a techno-geek so I dont need loads of functions and effects.

My previous camera was a Cannon Ixus which I liked a lot as it was simple to use.

Or should I concider one of those mini camcorders that also takes stills?

Help please

Ummm a canon ixus seriously I'm on my 4th now.. been so impressed I bought a 350D a couple of years ago but gotta say, I use the Point and shoot way more.

Another vote for the Ixus (mine's a 980). I've had Canon SLRs for decades (on my fifth now), never a problem, excellent cameras.
