Indoor Snowdome Ski in a day

My wife currently snowboards (quite Badly) and is looking to learn to ski. We are going away next year (09) for her first trip into the mountains and would like her to be of an ok standard before we go.


Looking around they have the Ski in a day lessons which i was thinking of getting her as part of her Christmas presents. Has anyone had any experience of these?

I think she will be good as sports she has done in the past give her a very good grounding.

im all for learning as you go but she wants to have lessons! and to learn before we get away!

I have done two "board in a day" courses at the Tamworth Snowdome and thought they were excellent, it has given me enough confidence to think I could go abroad, hire some kit and then get on the slopes without needing instruction

I think the learn in a day things are quite good. I'm don't think you can really do everything in one day, but spending that long on the slope gives you a really good start. I'd suggest the intensive 1 day in a snowdome and then lessons when she gets out there.

I did the learn in a day thing, albeit for snowboarding, and found that it help - gave me more confidence when I met real snow!

yeah i think the idea was do Ski in a day here in blighty, get a few sessions in before we go

then do a more advanced lesson on the mountain for 1/2 day
