Instant Justice

Seeming as its instant vigilante justice day on PH, I thought I'd add the following,

Have a read of this,

A father who fatally shot a man suspected of kidnapping and sexually assaulting his son was given a suspended prison term today and sentenced to five years of probation.

The man, Leon Gary Plauche, 39 years old, had pleaded no contest to manslaughter in the death of Jeffrey Doucet, 25, who was shot in the head in the Baton Rouge airport in March 1984.

The shooting occurred as deputies were returning Mr. Doucet in handcuffs from California, where he had been arrested on a charge of kidnapping Mr. Plauche's 11-year-old son.

There's a good case to be made for mitigating circumstances since it was the father. If anyone other than him (or the mother) had done this then they'd deserve life in jail without parole.

God he looks like a smug fk as walks by. Bullet to the head sorted that out though didn't it! Sick fk!

This is of course assuming he was guilty, no civvie is qualified to make that judgment over the authorites.

Where's the "justice" here? The guy hadn't been convicted.

Innocent until proven guilty. He may be an evil scum bag, but shooting an unarmed and shackled man is a cowardly act.

If you thought some guy bummer your 11 year old son, I am not sure you're looking to be heroic or courageous. You just want revenge. (That said, I'd probably wait until the trial and then he'd done 6 months in barred holiday camp.)

Also if someone had done that to my son I don't think I would be acting all that level headed as this guy probably wasn't. He had an opportunity and took it. Personally I say good for him.

Should have let him serve his time, no doubt being beaten and bummed regularly (I understand kiddlers aren't that popular in prison) and then shot him in the head as he left prison

If he did go near the bolkes kid, well what goes around, comes around.

If someone came near my son, it would be the same without question.

If he didnt, well, i guess we will never know, and perhaps, whoops may be selling it a little short.

That said, I do think I'd like a chance to abduct the guy and test out some of the more "interesting" MA techniques on him.

Let him go through hell in prison - then shoot him in the head when he is released.
Killing him stone dead when he didn't know it was coming isn't vegeful enough IMO

Why not, it was the father that was seeking revenge and he got it, quickly and succinctly.

I must admit, im suprised at the light sentence, even though i understand and may possible do the same as him in the same situation, it does undermine the whole justice system when it is seen to advocate taking the law into your own hands.
