Squatters who live in a property for 12 years it legally becomes theirs ? I thought that was an urban legend ! And needed a court order to evict them.... unbelievable !!

k me what a messs......best squatter story was that one in the west country where an old lady was in hospital/home and squatters moved in. it was in media. next evening their caravan was ablaze and they erm decided to leave. good positive action! the police didn't do anything because no one saw the firestarter and no one actually attached the (fvcking) scumbags so they just allowed them to disappear off.
so the answer here is for people to do lots of stuff shadily and not (be seen) to attack them.

said scrotes were forcibly evicted and taken for a nice ride into the forest , they were left with a 40km hike in the middle of winter and
-20c .......they never came back so i guess it worked !!

Wrong. It's just much more difficult these days. As previously mentioned, it is no longer automatic and the land registry will send a letter to the legal owner, who then has 2 years to reclaim the land. Of course, if the land registry doesn't have an alternative address for the landowner, the letter will simply fall on the mat of the squatters. I could tell you many things about squatters, especially in Brighton, but that would out who I am to those in the locality.
Suffice to say they are in the main total scumbags, and a lot of the time the county court judges indulge them and give them extra time "because they couldn't find a big enough house to move to".

Squatters rights just seems to me to be another archaic law that has outlived its purpose.
It may at one point have had some use in formalising property rights for those who took over the working of unoccupied land. But now is used as a way for the dregs of society to occupy and/or trash property that doesn't belong to them.
High time 'squatters rights' were abolished.
