I see. I was in the same scenario at your age (not that I was really interested in cars, or even Corvettes < didn't know what they were at the age of 9, but I needed help writing/typing).
You might be interested to know that there are Corvettes that run low-high 9s without any nitrous, turbochargers, or superchargers. Not many cars can do that (from outside USA). And this is with stock interior etc.

In the late 80's Callaway built a street legal C4 called the Sledgehammer. It had an motor by John Lingenfelter producing around 1000bhp. The car ran at the Honda research track in Ohio and avaraged 254mph for around 10 laps.
I went for a job interview with Callaway in 1989 and got a ride in the car as a bonus! An awesome bit of kit!

The Callaway Sledgehammer was timed at 255mph and was fully road legal and road driveable.
As far as I know thats the fastest anyone has actually timed and recorded any road car ever.

If anyone knows better I'd be interested to know. Oops just noticed blackzr's post. Lucky son of a - getting a ride in it!

Curiously enough I was flicking through an article about the 1989 Calloway TT as I waited for the computer to warm up (steam powered laptop )
Although not the quickest of all Corvettes a formidable piece of kit nonetheless, packing 584bhp and 647lbft.
If you'd like a pdf of the article corvettekid, I'd be happy to oblige

"The Fastest Corvette" well somehow I think the U.K. Title for that one is deffinately going to be Cliff's in the near future !! However it is measured...
In fact I may just get him to tow mine, that way I too can say I am quicker than the Z06 !
