Audi A4 Avant - Any owners? need opinions
Discussion
Hi,
I've posted this in GG but I'm not getting much help so I thought I'd ask here. m interested in getting one of these for lugging stuff around, mainly bikes and other kit. I dont do too many miles per year, maybe about 10,000, but it could increase so i'm after an idea of running costs and things to look out for. What engine would be best, i think i prefer a diesel and what are the differences in SE/Sports spec and which is the one to have?
A friend has an 02 plate, 2.5TDi Quattro, maybe a sport I'm not sure. It has 81k, half leather/alcantara, good condition, cambelt just been done. Its up at £8500ish.
Any opinions?
Cheers

I have an 04 Avant quattro 1.9 TDi and I really like it and definately recommend it as an everyday car. It'll take the miles no problem and is very well built. Not the largest of interiors, compared to, say, a Mondeo estate but I can still get everything I want in it. Haven't tried a bike, though!
If I remember correctly, the 2.5 isn't supposed to be as good an engine as the 1.9 but I can't remember why, sorry!
I get about 45 mpg on my regular motorway commute.
