Seat Leon radio problem....

I am the owner of a seat leon 1.9 TDi (110) 2001 with a radio that does not work. I had some work done that meant the battery was disconnected for several hours. On reconnection I tried to put in the code, no joy. The radio is displaying Safe continuosly no matter what buttons I press, have followed all instructions in handbook. Will not change from safe (there is a number 2 on the left hand side of display as well.

Has anyone out there had this problem, the local Seat dealer is no help what so ever.

Leave the radio on ie displaying Safe 2 for about an hour and then it should let you re enter the code again

Thanks for the advice, I tried this and the radio still would not come on. I took the radio out and there was a small hand written sticker with a 4 number code on it. Replaced the radio, and hey presto, it worked. The number in the handbook card was the wrong code!!!! Maybe the radio had been replaced.
