Le Mans Campsites

Does anyone have experience of the Beausejour or Houx Annexe campsites? Do they have decent shower facilities and are they OK if it rains (i.e. they don't turn into mud bogs)? I'm also not sure where the Beausejour campsite is located

Parts of Houx Annexe can flood in torrential rain (as in 1999) - aim for high ground Parts of the campsite were not very grassy which could turn into mud in the rain. Showers/bogs were portacabins with dirty floors once the rain started...

I was at houx annex in 96 when it was very hot and the place was a dust bowl... handy for walking up the mulsanne to the chinky on the sunday night... This year we are back at expo in the cattle sheds... that gets a roof over the tent and somewhere undercover to hide if it rains..

Two mentions of rain - has someone seen a very long range forecast? Plan for sunshine..... been about ten times now and only got really wet twice. We'll be in Bleu this year (surrounded by Caterfields no doubt) Never heard of the Beausejour campsite - maybe it's a private thing - if so likely to be v small or further away from the circuit.

I've only been for the past 2 years and it was fantastically sunny. I didn't realise that rain was possible at Le Mans! My Westfield has no roof whatsoever ! My tent hasn't been out in the rain ! I only have room to pack shorts and T-shirts for the trip ! Blimey !!!

I think it was 98 that was a bit wet, you could have probably got a ferry from portsmouth straight to Le mans!!!! at one point we had 3 inches of water flowing through the tent. That was the night the two merc's crept out and blatted up an down the runway...
