Just in case anyones missed it, Ginetta have put the G50 race car into road going production, which fills the hole in the market where TVR left off and its been proving itself very well on the race track (unlike a lot of other such offerings). I dont know the price, and rumours says its expensive but well worth a look if you are in that market.

I've always liked Ginetta's products and philosophy.
Very much TVR's soulmates I'd say.

Slower to go upmarket (is that why they're still in business ? scratchchin), but always maintained their sporting heritage.
A true petrolhead's car. smile

Look quite nice - would like to see one in the flesh as you can never fully tell from a photo.
Anyone know what sort of prices they'll be coming in at?

Hi Tony wavey
Seem to remember a £40k price being bandied around at the GT racing meets.

Does the EV come with artificial V8 soundtrack too? smile

Not totally sold on the styling just yet, looks a bit like it sagged in the mould, however i am a Ginetta fan so will watch how this turns out with interest, and as they're only just up the road (in car building terms) It'll be nice to see something great happening on the doorstep so to speak smile good luck Ginetta.

There might be a small run of TVR v8 specials shortly.... Possibly not called TVR's but certainly a large proportion of them would have been built at Bristol Avenue by TVR..

More track focused than previous cars, but road legal in an elise kind of way...

So how much for a zytec v8, cant find any prices.
Also, as they are used in the LMP cars how would they fair with a TVR's weight?

Thanks go to Graham Abbott for our early peek round the Ginetta factory.

They have a good product and are continuing development.

Would be nice to see a roadster. smile

As I said on previous occasions, that sounds like the most sensible sort of direction for TVR in the forseeable future. They do need the TVR badge, though - if only to distuinghuish them from the two or three hopefuls emerging in the news section of every single Evo issue...

I don't know about prices for the Zytek as it's aimed a LMP racing, weight is supposed to be on par

I think the official price tag for the G50 was being flirted around the £50k mark and they're absolutely BEAUTIFUL in the flesh!!!!!!!!

looks great like a close cousin of all the tvrs mixed up, in fact i would go as far as saying if they loose the door handles and put a slash in front of the door you would have the next TVR model
needs an obscenely large reliable v8 in it IMO to finish it off
Rich
edited to add and atouch of marcos front end too

The G50 design just doesn't do it for me - somehow the lines just lack cohesion and don't flow well together. Also, have a look at the panel gaps between the boot and rear quarter sections - not good !

A fair point BUT, when your Tuscan was new I bet it wasn't as bad as the G50 and bear in mind the G50 is new and they've taken pictures of what ought to be their show car - surely they could have done better ?
