don't rub it in that i don't have sky... i asked my mum (even offering to pay) 2 years ago so i can spend all day watching motorsport and she said we'd get it...

...when she got a new telly (our current one is about 22!!!)

well, we don't have a new telly and i still can't watch Bathurst/ALMS and the like on Sky... not to mention the occasional non-motorsport related program i might watch!!!

I was there to watch it live...

The highlight of the weekend was Murphy's qualifying lap - www.mytired.net/temp/Murphy_206.wmv - less than one second between the first 8 cars, and somehow Murphy pulls a complete second off the laptime, he found the service crews of all the competitors clapping and cheering him down the pitlane on his return...amazing bit of driving.

Enjoy the video...

Anyone know if there will be a highlights show?
I have to admit I find the mount panorama track the most spectacular circuit around.
can´t wait to see the mosler and TVR there next month in the Bathurst 1000, is that race being televised over here?

Only on Motors TV. I think they've already shown it a couple of times during the week after.

Unless you buy the video.

BBC would probably say "Bathurst what?" and the ITV are too busy at the moment with football, rugby and Coronation Street. Am I the only one pi$$ed off with the banner "Coronation St will be on after the current program" they put across anything that happens to go into normal Coronation Street viewing times even though it's advertised as being on later.

Just goes to show the intellgence of people who watch it I suppose.

I've driven it in a 5.0 Torana its a scary track- sod all run off up or down the mountain section, but IMHO there are many more imprssive tracks around & even sticking to Oz I prefer Phillip Island.

Best moment of the Bathurst coverage was the studio-to-pit-to-car radio link-up between the Aussie commentator,Marcos Ambrose in the car and Mark Skaife in the pits!Don't think I've ever seen a three-way conversation like that during a race before!

And a big thanks to Carlton Kirby, who is the announcer for Motors TV,he kept the commentary going when the chaps in Oz took a break. He even had a thread going on the Motors TV forum during the race, everyone who posted to that thread got a mention on the telly! Now that's what I call interactive TV!Nice one,CK!
