Hi folks,
Just a quick one hopefully.
My trusty old 325 touring has stopped squirting, when I pull back on the windscreen stalk, the wipers work, but no water comes out.
I have checked the levels, the tubes and fuse. All I am really left with is the motor.
However, under the bonnet are 2 reservoirs, they are both situated of the offside, near to the front, next to each other. They dont connect and both have connectors and motors on them. Also, not connected to anything, but off the same wiring loom bit is another pin type connector (female end) which doesnt seem to go anywhere, and a lead containing 2 wires, a purple one and a black one which were connected to something once, but not now. They have electrical tape covering them which means that they must have done something.
What on earth do these odd wires do?
And why do I have 2 reservoirs?
I would be most grateful for some pointers, or if anyone has an E30 325i (Touring) could you have a gander under the bonnet for me.
Thanks
Mike.

Are you sure the holes are not blocked. Currently I am only getting water out of the right hand washer so assume the other is just blocked, coincidence but they might both be blocked.

Mind you I have never been able to get my rear screen washer to work. Wiper only

If the jets are not blocked then remove the tubes and check them. Probably some crud in there perhaps?

The big reservoir is for water (or water with some cleaner mix) and the small one is for the 'Intensiv' cleaning system.

Basically you buy a concentrated bottle of cleaner from bmw, chuck it in there and when you activate the super wash (press wiper stalk) it'll mix a stronger concentration.

Ta for the replies, much appreciated.
Strange though, the sodding things have started working again, along with the rear window demist illumination....
This car has never broken down in 180k but it is definately getting weirder and weirder......
