Canon 400D problem

Waiting for my new lens that I have just purchased and now it seems the camera has got a problem. Could just be something totally stupid but I'm very much new to SLRs and their workings.

The problem is that the viewfinder is blurred all the time. The camera is focusing and will take a perfect picture but I can't tell in the viewfinder this as everything is blurred, even the data at the bottom. I've tried cleaning it, thinking that it could just be bit of muck on the outside but this has not helped. Any ideas would be well appreciated.

There should be a small knob with plus and minus symbols next to the viewfinder. Twist it until the picture becomes clear again.

yep that'll do it or put your contact lenses in!

How very embarrassing! Least it was on here rather than at a shop!
