Ive been trying to get a drive (and subsequently probably purchase) one of the new Landcruiser V8 TT Diesels (that have now replaced the Amazon).

I can not find one anywhere. Been on to half a dozen dealers, who have all either said they cant get one for test drive or never called me back.

Advertising/marketing for them is non existent.

Anyone got one? Anyone know of one in a showroom somewhere?!

Ive never seen one on the road in the UK.

Aside from calling the HQ of Toyota UK there's not a lot else you can do.

Good call, though, what a wagon.

Interesting smile

I too have been looking to buy a tree-huggers worst nightmare

I live in a big city with a high proportion of wannabe property developers and general wkers
A big 4x4 is not unusual around here - even Cayennes LOL

Anyway I actually need a new tow car, hence the 4x4 obsession

I have been around most of the obvious targets and test drives are not easy

Audi do not have a Q7 demonstrator
BMW do not have an X5

Both dealerships are part of bigger goups
No-one in the group has a demo to even share around

The Audi guy was a bullstter
The BMW salesman was disarmingly honest

Not only do they not have a demo because they are worried they will lose £££ on it in a few months but the whole dealer group have been told not to take any X5's in PX at all for the time being as they cannot shift them second hand

This may be why you cant find an Amazon demo
Although a mail to Toyota UK should help Id imagine

Cheers

I was in RRG Toyota at Salford Quays yesterday asking about the exact same car (LC V8).

They don't have any in stock, retail or fleet.
The salesman looked puzzled when I asked him would they be able to get one for my to see and drive.

His answer was "At 56 grand it's unlikely we'll sell any so we won't be getting one."

They did have a "good" (his words) brochure though.
Shame that as the one I wanted was nearer to 59 grand (as he puts it) but not to worry. rolleyes

I'm trying to convince my old man to swap his LC3 for it. It's not working.

An LC3 to an Invincible wouldnt be a bad move, much more power in the Invincible, though they are a lot thirstier.

Toyota GB will have a few floating about press/demo cars probably that will most likely end up on a forecourt somewhere. Sound like you could get a mega discount on one if ones available, cos nobody is mad enough hehe

My boss has a V8 version. Awesome car, friggin huge but more like a Lexus inside than a straight old Toyota. Other boss has a new X5 and i think the Landcruiser is nicer insider.

You would have to be a mentalist to buy one in the UK instead of a TdV8 Range Rover.

The Range Rover is better looking in and out, better to drive, better to travel in, more refined, better off-road 99% of the time and 100% more desirable.

Unless you work for the UN or live somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Africa I can't imagine why you'd choose one over a Range Rover.

I think you just answered your own question.

In the real world Toyota make the best 4x4 because they are real 4x4 not nancy boy lord and ladymobiles.

Not that I'd buy one, cos I'm not hardcore enough. I'd go for the X5 tongue out

I didn't ask a question and your post is nonsense.

Just one in the classifieds.

I like it, 4x4 but without the X5/Q7 image. It looks purposeful and 'bought for the right reason'.

Its only 100% more desirable to a certain type of person though. Id have the LC over the RR every day of the week.

What on earth was a diesel 1 Series "coupe" more desirable than? eek

Not all Range Rovers have black glass and innit wheels.
