(Obviously not yet, but...) when does Christmas begin?

So, I heard my first Christmas song of 2009 on the radio this morning and TV ads have been bombarding us with Christmas shopping for months, but when do you actually start feeling Christmassy?
The idea of starting to celebrate Christmas now just some how dilutes that week or so at the end of the month when things are genuinely festive.

Strangely I've been feeling a bit christmassy already. That could be because I didn't feel christmassy at all the previous 2 years so making up for it now.
Might also be that I'm happy that my life is now going somewhere and I don't listen to the radio or watch much TV so not been bombarded by pretentious christmas crap.

Christmas is about a little fairy story involving a cheating wife and a thick husband. Thats it. It's not big and it's not clever.
Now get over it and stop insisting that I buy presents for people. If I wanted to have a family gathering it certainly would not be at the end of December when the weather is st.
