Knocking noise on mk4 golf

Hello

I have got a mk4 golf and for some while now it has been making like a knocking noise by the front wheel. You can only notice it when going slow and over bumps, Any ideas??

Been in the garage about a year ago - they said cause it had no break pads on the rear breaks but it still makes the noise.

Top mounts or poss bottom arms I would say

Front ARB bushes. Common problem, about £20 to change.
Check these first.

Yep ARB's my A3 is doing the same at the mo!

often you need to replace the anti roll bar itself not just the bushes, there are plastic inserts that break off. New bar is modified without the inserts and with bigger bushes. A3's and TT's (Golfs) all do it, very common.
