OK so first up, I know this is a slightly anal question - but little things bother me sometimes wink

Does anyone else get annoyed by the leather gaiter on their gearknob 'falling down' all the time, to expose the crappy metalwork of the lower half of the gearstick? I'm forever pulling it up again.

Has anyone come up with an ingenious solution to this? I'm currently considering a ring of superglue around the gearstick, and hoping the leather will stick to it.

little things .....

cheers

Mine keeps coming untucked from the transmission tunnel. Bugs me lots.
I'd love another one as it has a tiny split. All the breakers have been less than useful.

For the Chim and Griff those nice people at Leven make rather excellent metal surrounds that grip the leather gaiter cool

All you need to is to find some matching furniture thread and relevent needle - gather the gaitor and stitch it where it meets and hopefully it should do the job.

Ahh. No. It annoys me because it's forever riding up and getting in the way.

Yep. I took it off and chucked it on a shelf in the garage.

Hehe - thanks for all the replies chaps!

The Leven solution looks good ... but mine is a Sag so I think I'll ring them up and suggest they make a new clip for the Sag/T350 wink

In the interim I'm still thinking of the superglue option, or maybe a neatly-trimmed black cable tie round the top part of the leather (mine is black leather so a cable tie wouldn't look too out of place - maybe)

I really should just get over it and enjoy the drive

cheers ears

I used a piece of fuel hose held inplace on the gearstick underneath the gaiter with a jubilee clip..

Stops it sliding up and down the shaft... ooo-eerrr missus!

A cable tie? On a TVR?! Surely you jest!
