Do public schools teach IT skills?
Discussion
I work in a "toff's" industry and you wouldn't believe how poor the 'posh' kids are at any sort of IT skill. it's not even that to be honest - they seem pretty lousy at any sort of logical thought. the lads that my team keep getting from the mean streets of Larndan town, in comparison, seem to be far far better in this regard... weird isn't it? hence the question!
they seem to be good at beingarrogant confident but they wouldn't know where to start it if came to thinking.

The school I was at, Glenalmond, as featured on the television, has a bespoke IT building for teaching all IT related subjects, eg. which Porsche to buy.
I remember you being rubbish ar rugby
only a short drive up from Crieff though and you did provide a decent lunch sometimes.I went to a public school and I had the best IT facilities at my disposal, thing is we only had 1 hour a week for the first year as lessons.
After that there were no IT lessons or courses, as we had much better facilities at our disposal than sitting in front of a PC.
EG Rugby Pitches, Astroturfs, Tennis courts, Swimming pools, Squash courts, Fencing, Rock climbing and the list goes on.

so there's never any intention to know how to do things then?EG Rugby Pitches, Astroturfs, Tennis courts, Swimming pools, Squash courts, Fencing, Rock climbing and the list goes on.
were the rugby pitches so you knew how to appreciate the future corporate hospitality functions you'd be asked to go to?

The problem is that IT subject are/were selective from 3rd year at high school (they were when i was there nearly 10 years ago....)
TBH, my computer skills developed after i left school, purely because i had to learn.
TBH, most young men know how to use the internet for, ahem, 'art' projects
