Hi,
Long story short! After a 20 year career in electrical engineering (mostly industrial process control), I decided to try Teaching. Went to Uni, got a good first, and started teacher training. For a number of reasons, decided teaching wasn't for me (workload / family issues mainly), and so find myself on the jobs market, at possibly the worst time in 20 years!
I am resourcefull, intelligent and willing to learn (reference recent degree success whilst raising family). Have no real preference as to what I want to do, but would prefer to stay out of engineering if possible as my reasons for getting out (manufacturing industry decline) are just as relevant today as they were four years ago.
I apreciate I am not going to get in at board level, and may need to start 'at the bottom'. I am currently doing some driving work just to keep bills ticking over. I think I am worth 25-30k of anyones money after a reasonable settling in / retraining period.
Any ideas?
